Grounds for election

Dr Comeau is a landscape archaeologist and historian who specialises in early medieval Wales. Her research focuses on a range of themes, including: landscapes of power and assembly; agriculture; seasonal settlement; burial and cemeteries; and interdisciplinary approaches to medieval landscapes. Dr Comeau has published widely, including articles in Medieval Archaeology and Archaeologia Cambrensis, a monograph entitled Land, people and power in early medieval Wales: the cantref of Cemais in comparative perspective (published in 2020) and an edited volume, Living off the Land: Agriculture in Wales c. 400 to 1600 AD (published in 2019). She is currently co-directing the development of the new research framework for early medieval Wales, and is engaged in a number of research projects, including an analysis of all known corn-drying kilns from medieval Wales. She is a trustee and membership secretary of the Cambrian Archaeological Association and an adviser to the Dyfed Archaeological Trust.
