Mr Kirsop is an expert in taxation relief and exemptions in respect of buildings, land and art of national importance and has helped revise the government publication ‘Capital Taxation and the National Heritage’. He is a member of the British Archaeological Association, the Oriental Ceramic Society and a fieldworker for the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain and Ireland. He is Honorary Secretary and Treasurer of the Friends of the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture. His interests include Early Medieval and Romanesque art, pre-Ming Chinese bronzes and ceramics, and French art and history of the 17th and 18th cenuries. He contributed to the catalogue for the exhibition ‘Fanfare for the Sun King’.
