Grounds for election

Dr Richardson is a leading scholar in early Tudor court studies. Two major publications will appear in 2014, ‘The Field of Cloth of Gold’ (Yale University Press) and ‘Cardinal Wolsey’ (Routledge). Other works include ‘Renaissance Monarchy: The Reigns of Henry VIII, Francis I and Charles V’ (Hodder Arnold, 2002) and contributions to ‘Tudor England and its Neighbours’ (Palgrave, 2005) and ‘The Contending Kingdoms: France and England, 1420-1700’ (Ashgate Press, 2008). Dr Richardson gained a BA with First Class Honours in history at the University of Sydney, Australia. He took a PhD at the London School of Economics in 1996 when his thesis, supervised by Fellow Dr David Starkey, was on Anglo-French political and cultural relations in the reign of Henry VIII. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (2003) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2007).
