Grounds for election

Dr Joseph Spooner is an internationally acclaimed academic editor and translator. He is a researcher and series editor for the British Corpus Vitrearum and editor and translator for Corpus Vitrearum projects in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. He is well-known as translator of Erwin Panofsky and Aby Warburg. His research encompasses Homeric papyri, medieval and post-medieval stained glass. Recent/forthcoming publications include: ‘Shrewsbury, Church of St Mary’, ‘Ashtead, Church of St Giles’, ‘Glass Attributed to Herkenrode’, The Stained Glass of Herkenrode Abbey in England, Corpus Vitrearum (Great Britain), VII (forthcoming); Erwin Panofsky, Michelangelo’s Design Principles (Princeton, 2020, trans.); Aby Warburg, Three Lectures on Leonardo (London, 2019, trans.), ‘The Seventeenth- and Eighteenth-Century Glass at St Luke’s, Charlton’, Vidimus 133 (2020); ‘Checklist of Principal Works’, Ervin Bossanyi: Vision, Art and Exile (London, 2008).
