Suzannah Lipscomb is an historian specialising in the history of sixteenth-century England and France, with a focus on the intersection of religious, gender, political, and social history with material culture. Professor Emerita at the University of Roehampton and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, Suzannah holds an MA, MSt and DPhil in History from Oxford University and was previously Research Curator at Hampton Court Palace. She has written five books, including A Visitor's Companion to Tudor England which directs readers to the extant material remains of the Tudor past, and edited two more. She has won awards for her work as Creative Director of the National Trust exhibition ‘We Are Bess’ and the Nancy Roelker Prize. She has a strong profile in public engagement in the past through television and radio. She is the host of Not Just the Tudors podcast, and writes a regular column for History Today that explores the role of history outside the academy.
