Grounds for election
Dr Kristi Bain heads the University of Cambridge Research and Collections Programme - a collaboration between the University's two humanities Schools, the University of Cambridge Museums Consortium, and Cambridge University Libraries, to promote interdisciplinary collection-based research. Her personal area of academic expertise is parish church studies, a subject on which she has published and lectured extensively, and which was the subject of her PhD thesis. Previous appointments include work in the Research Office at Cambridge, Senior Research Associate and Cultural Engagement Fellow at the University of East Anglia, Library Outreach Officer at Norwich Cathedral Library, and Teaching Fellow at Northwestern University. She is an Associate Advisor for Cambridge Digital Humanities, a Steering Committee Member of the University of Cambridge Heritage Science Hub, and a member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Centre for Parish Church Studies, the Norwich Historic Churches Trust.
