Grounds for election

Richard has been interested in archaeology from a young age which led to a GCSE in the subject, followed by an A Level in Classical Civilisation focusing on ancient Greece and Rome. This led to a degree in archaeology from the University of Newcastle. Since graduating he has worked in the discipline, commencing with taking a position at a geophysical survey company in the north-east of England, before moving on to a Team Leader (and then Senior Project Officer) role at Stratascan. Following this he worked as a Project Officer at Archaeological Research Services Ltd, undertaking watching briefs, archaeological evaluations and excavation. Richard now works as a Director at RPS providing heritage advice to his clients. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists and has been involved in their Advisory Council and on their Registered Organisations committee. Other than British archaeology, interests include the Medieval Military Religious Orders and Meso-America.
