He has published two Archaeopress monographs on the history of archaeology and collections in modern Sicily, while another two in preparation cover the protection of archaeology collections during wartime in Europe. His two edited volumes concern tokens (monetiform objects) in Antiquity and the Middle Ages. His 26 chapters and journal papers since 2006 likewise centre on coinage, tokens, and the archaeological heritage of Sicily, but also extend to other forms of material culture from Sicily and Palmyra, as well as Augustan propaganda. Three of his papers have won prizes. Besides organizing conferences, he has taken part in Outreach activities in archaeology and classics in East Midlands schools.
