Grounds for election

Anna Collar is a founder of The Connected Past research network and conference series. Her research explores the epigraphy and material culture of religion, social networks, and landscape, mobility, emotion and memory. She is the author of Religious Networks in the Roman Empire: The Spread of New Ideas (Cambridge University Press 2013) which was a finalist in the American Academy of Religion’s Best First Book in the History of Religions 2014 award, and co-editor of The Connected Past: Challenges to Network Studies in Archaeology and History (Oxford University Press 2016), Pilgrimage and Economy in the Ancient Mediterranean (Brill 2020) and Pilgrims in Place, Pilgrims in Motion (Aarhus University Press forthcoming). She has excavated in Crete, Turkey and the UK; she is co-director of the Taseli-Karaman Archaeological Project in Cilicia, Turkey and of the Roman Avebury Landscape Project in the UK.
