Richard Wragg is a qualified archivist and currently the Collections Manager at the University of Sussex where he has responsibility for the use, interpretation and safekeeping of archives, manuscripts, rare books, printed ephemera and artworks. He previously worked at the National Gallery in London, St George's Chapel, Windsor and the National Maritime Museum. Dr Wragg's research interests relate to late medieval medical manuscripts. His first book - a study and edition of the Guild Book of the Barbers and Surgeons of York - was published in December 2021 by the York Medieval Press; he has also published on the history of record keeping at the National Gallery and the nineteenth century papers of a naval officer's wife. Dr Wragg is currently the Chair of the Archives and Records Association's Association's Diversity and Inclusion Allies, and the membership secretary of the Association for Archives and Manuscripts in Research Collections (AMARC).
