Internationally recognized expert in the deterioration, cleaning and repair of historic building materials especially of stone, brick and terracotta. Holder of international patents for ingenious consolidation processes. Norman Weiss is a professor in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation at Columbia University, New York and senior scientist with Integrated Conservation Resources Inc., New York. Member of the US National Park Service Preservation Technology & Training Board; Editorial Board for the Journal of Architectural Conservation; Life Time Achievement Award and Fellow of the Association for Preservation Technology; Numerous scientific and technical publications. Recent work includes analysis and specification for the west front of the US capitol, Washington DC; on Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water and Guggenheim museum and missions to Angkor Wat World heritage Site.
