Grounds for election

Dr Thomas’s expertise is in the material culture of societies and communities in the south-west of England in the late Iron Age and Roman period. She has focused on analysing if and how identities changed from the Late Iron Age through the Roman period through the analysis of artefact assemblages excavated from sites across the south-west peninsula. Her findings have recently been published in her book “On the Edge of Empire” and her research is regarded as of both national and international importance. She has presented papers on her research at the Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference in 2015, at Imperialism and Identities at the Edges of the Roman World 3 (IIERW3) in Serbia during 2016 and at the Roman Finds Group Autumn Meeting in 2016. She has contributed chapters to the conference proceedings for TRAC 2015 and IIERW3. As a professional archaeologist she has written and contributed towards numerous specialist reports on Roman pottery, Roman coins, Roman small finds/ceramics
