Grounds for election

Rebecca is an archaeologist with extensive field, and post-excavation experience, particularly in Central Asia, where her specialism lies in archaeobotanical analysis. She recently curated the critically acclaimed ‘Gold of the Great Steppe’ exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum, which showcased Iron Age artefacts on loan from the exhibition’s partner museum, The East Kazakhstan Regional Museum of Local History. This included editing the exhibition catalogue, the first English-language academic publication of recent archaeological findings from East Kazakhstan. Rebecca is working to support the next generation of Kazakhstani women working in the heritage sector, and is currently advising two Kazakh PhD students; 1 based in Cambridge and 1 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She supported the successful delivery of the ERC-funded ‘ADaPt’ project at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, and is currently managing the Arcadia-funded project ‘Mapping Archaeological Heritage in South Asia.
