Grounds for election

An anthropological archaeologist and internationally recognized authority in the application of digital methods and computational approaches within heritage and archaeology. He has worked in Canada, the United States, Egypt, and the Sudan. An Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Michigan State University. Director of the Cultural Heritage Informatics Initiative and Director of the Digital Heritage Imaging & Innovation Lab. Head of Tangible Heritage & Archaeology Projects at Matrix: The Center for Digital Humanities & Social Sciences, where he served as Associate Director from 2009-2020. He is also Adjunct Curator of Archaeology at the MSU Museum. Currently, Watrall is Co-Director of the National Park Service funded Internment Archaeology Digital Archive. Past Director of NEH Funded MSUDAI, ARCS, and the "Digital Archive of Malian Photography; Co-PI of Enslaved: People of the Historical Slave Trade an Andrew J. Mellon Foundation funded project.
