Grounds for election

Robin has had a distinguished career in public archives. As Archive Manager for Worcestershire he made a substantial contribution to the development of archive and local history research facilities. This was recognised in the 1990s by the Department for Culture Media and Sport. At Birmingham University, Robin ran pioneering evening classes from 1976-2006, helping students gain the confidence and skills to undertake research. He has served as Chair of the Worcestershire Historical Society, President of the Worcestershire Local History Forum, and Editor of the Worcestershire Archaeological Society. His research interests include Diocesan Court papers, a database of Worcestershire’s medieval seals and the historiography of Worcestershire’s antiquaries and he has published articles on these subjects He is a member of Hereford Cathedral Library Advisory Committee and has listed the Eastnor Castle Archive. He is currently working on an edition of 18th century Consistory Court Records.
