Grounds for election

Mark is Ringing Master at Worcester Cathedral. He has led the restoration of the bells and ringing room and opened the first major teaching centre for bellringing in the world. The Worcester Cathedral Guild of Bellringers is internationally recognised for its pioneering work to keep the tradition of English change ringing alive and flourishing. As advisor to the Diocese, Mark has facilitated the restoration of bells in many parish churches. Previously Mark was Churchwarden at St Mary le Bow. He led the project to clean the tower, restore the bells, reorder the ringing room and replace historic peal boards destroyed in the Blitz. The famous bells are now rung regularly. Mark was Steeplekeeper at St Pauls Cathedral from 1994 to 2000 and member of the St Paul’s Guild of Bellringers. His work has been recognised nationally and internationally. He has published and spoken at conferences, been interviewed on the BBC and featured in articles in the Financial Times and Washington Post.
