Grounds for election

John Lee has made important and significant contributions to several areas of medieval history, including urban development, the cloth industry, and aspects of material culture, including funerary monuments. As sole author he has published Cambridge and its economic region, 1450–1560 (2005) and The Medieval Clothier (2018), and he has contributed to and/or co-edited several other books as well publishing many conference papers, other articles and book reviews in academic journals. Although currently employed in local government he has undertaken part time teaching and for the Universities of Cambridge, Durham and York. Since 2004 he has been a Research Associate at the Centre for Medieval Studies, University of York, and he served on the Council of the Monumental Brass Society until 2021.
