Grounds for election

Laura is an accredited conservator specialising in archaeological and historic objects, including collections care and management. She has worked across the UK and in the Middle East. From 2005-12 she was conservator to the Royal Institute of Cornwall. Her conservation specialisms include hazardous materials management and identification of mineralised organic remains, on which she has published and lectured. In 2009 Laura founded LRconservation and in 2012 began conservation work on live archaeological projects across the South West and the Isles of Scilly. This work has included many important community projects, with an aim to making all aspects of archaeological processes more accessible. This has led to Laura taking on the role Ancient Penwith Project Officer for Penwith Landscape Partnership, coordinating management plans and fieldwork for a large number of sites in the far west of Cornwall, resulting in their stabilisation and acting as a catalyst for research.
