Grounds for election

Tom Del Mar has assisted in the management of collections in Austria (Esterhazy Foundation), the Czech Republic (Lobkowicz collection) and in the UK and USA. He has catalogued and sold artefacts from distinguished collections since 2005, among them the John Woodman Higgins Armory, the Royal Houses of Hanover and Prussia, the Princely House of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, the Grand Dukes of Baden, and those of Anthony North FSA, Alan Borg FSA and A.R. Dufty FSA. He has published essays by leading scholars in the field of arms and armour, including Tobias Capwell FSA’s major monographs on the Armour of the English Knight. Forthcoming titles include co-publications with the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. He is a member of various scholarly societies within the fields of armour and metalwork in the UK, USA and Germany and has contributed to and supported the work of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Armouries.
