Dr Davies is an authority on East African archaeology, with an special interest in agricultural systems. He has led a series of projects that use knowledge of historical ecology and archaeology to inform current practice in developing sustainable and resilient agricultural systems in partnership with local societies. He has published widely in a series of books, book chapters and journal papers.
