Grounds for election

Kate Spence is an expert on the built environment and material culture of Ancient Egypt and Sudan. Her work focuses on the New Kingdom Egyptian and she is currently engaged in a field project at Sesebi, Northern Sudan, the site of a New Kingdom Egyptian colonial walled town. She is also writing up fieldwork on the North Palace at Amarna. She has published widely on Ancient Egypt and is also actively engaged in work that aims to facilitate cultural awareness among young audiences both in Egypt itself and internationally.
