Grounds for election

Sue’s interests are primarily in early modern literature and culture. Currently working on non-elite writing, she has also published on Renaissance drama, women’s writing in manuscript and print and the use of metamorphosis as a concept in vernacular English texts. She has published extensively including Writing Metamorphosis in Renaissance England, 1550-1700 (Cambridge University Press, 2014), Conspiracy and Virtue: Women, Writing, and Politics in Seventeenth Century England (Oxford University Press, November 2006), Politics and Drama in the English Civil War. (Cambridge University Press, April 1998), Aphra Behn (Northcote House, 1996; rev., 2007). She also convenes the London Renaissance Seminar.
