Grounds for election

Chris Scott is an Archaeologist and Heritage Consultant who has contributed significantly to the understanding of industrial archaeology in the North East of England. Chris’s work in the region began in is role as Curator of Industry at Beamish (2006-2010) and continued in his Directorial role at Solstice Heritage, an archaeological consultancy based in and focussed on the archaeology of the North East. His contributions include published and publicly available reporting on coal mining, mills and early potteries of the North East. Chris is a champion of educational engagement with a career long commitment to training, knowledge transfer and demonstrable impact in a diverse range of communities. Chris is the Lead Archaeologist for the Channel 4 TV show The Great British Dig, responsible for locating and researching appropriate sites and ensuring that all archaeology undertaken meets or exceeds national standards.
