Grounds for election
Dr Loveman is a leading authority on the 17th century and book history in particular and has been at the University of Leicester since 2006 and is now Associate Professor. Her study of Samuel Pepys and his Books (OUP, 2015), was commended for the SHARP DeLong Book History Prize. Reviewers commented that it sets the standard for all future scholarship on Pepys and for histories of reading more broadly. She has also published in Food and History, Historical Journal and English Historical Review. She has been awarded funding from the Bibliographical Society for a project on 18th century chapbooks and has recently been awarded funding from the AHRC on 'Reimagining the Restoration: Samuel Pepys and Popular History for the 21st Century' involves a collaboration with the Museum of London. She is currently supervising a PhD on the Gentlemen's Society of Spalding, including its relations with the Society of Antiquaries in the early 18th century.
