Grounds for election

Dan has been a professional archaeologist, largely in the developer-funded sector since 1996. He has worked as a post-excavation specialist for English Heritage, Oxford Archaeology and Cotswold Archaeology where he is currently a Principal Post Excavation Manager. He took his undergraduate and master’s degrees at Cardiff University and was part of the English Landscapes and Identities Project at the University of Oxford where he took his DPhil. in 2017. He has published on sites from Southern England spanning from the Mesolithic through to the post-medieval period, as well as on Iron Age and Roman ceramics, food and landscape, and big-data methodologies for finds and environmental research. He has interests in public benefit in archaeology and cross-sector research and engagement, having been part of the Food for Thought outreach project at the University of Oxford, where he helped to deliver events including co-curating an exhibition on Roman food.
