Professor Malcolm Baker is an art historian and museum curator. Assistant Keeper of Art and Archaeology at the Royal Scottish Museum (1969-80) and then at the V&A (1980-2005) Curator of Sculpture, Deputy Head of Research and Head of Medieval and Renaissance Galleries Project. Getty Research Institute 2003-7. Malcolm Baker has published widely on the history of sculpture especially in 18th century Britain, France and Germany and the history of collecting and display. Publications include with David Bindman, Roubiliac and the Eighteenth-Century Monument: Sculpture as Theatre (1995)
