Grounds for election

Expert and active researcher on medieval stone crosses and sculpture in South West Britain. Has researched, published and lectured for 40 years on the heritage significance and management of medieval stonework and advocate for its protection and conservation. Member of Truro Diocesan Advisory Committee, Cornwall Historic Churches Trust committee, heritage consultant on medieval crosses and carved stonework. Contributing author to Corpus of Anglo-Saxon Stone Sculpture vol XI (2013, British Academy) and joint author of Ancient and High Crosses of Cornwall (2021, Exeter University Press: winner of Holyer An Gof, Cornish Book Award, 2022). Principal author of Illuminating Our Lantern Crosses (2023). Cornish bard (1990) and Heritage Champion (2010). Research interests include medieval grave slabs, parish churches, chapels and medieval bridges. Author of Wade-Bridge: Notes on the history of the 15th century bridge (2012) a highly regarded history of the longest medieval bridge in Cornwall.
