Grounds for election

Jenny is an historian and curator specialising in plasterwork and woodwork. Since 2023 she has been Senior Curator of Furniture & Woodwork at the V&A. After 15 years as a theatre designer and in historic properties as a lime plaster modeller, she undertook the V&A/RCA MA receiving Distinction and the best dissertation prize for her work on English C18th plasterwork. She completed her PhD, funded by the AHRC, at the Courtauld on decorative plasterwork in England, 1660–1700. In 2017, she joined the V&A as Curatorial Fellow in Furniture of the long C18th. Publications include ‘The Abbotts and Their Book: A Dynasty of Decorative Plasterers and their Work in Devon, c.1580 to 1727’, Architectural History, vol. 64 (2021) and ‘Drawing out a surface in Lime and Hair’ in Casey and Hayes, ed., Enriching Architecture (2023). She was Trustee for the Grinling Gibbons Society (2019-22), the Furniture History Society (2022-25) and is currently a Trustee for the Strawberry Hill Collections Trust.
